Transform your mince pies this Christmas and fill them with Mammy Jamia’s Fig Preserve instead.
This stunning sweet and sticky jam won a Gold star in this year’s prestigious Great Taste Awards for its “very nice colour and alluring aroma which starts gently and creeps up on you”.
Made by an award winning producer in Kent, Mammy Jamia’s Fig Preserve costs £2.39 for a 340g jar and is available in Tesco, Waitrose, Ocado and Sainsbury’s.
Fig Tart Recipe
Ingredients: 1 x 340g jar Mammy Jamia’s Fig Preserve; 1 x 375g pack fresh ready rolled puff pastry; a little milk
Method: Unroll the puff pastry and cut out 28 5cm thick discs and arrange them on your baking tray. Brush the edge of the pastry with a little milk. Dollop a generous spoonful of fig jam in the centre of each pastry disc. Put in the oven at temperature: Gas mark 7, 425F, 220C and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden. Remove and cool. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
